Lettuce Club was the idea of college. My friends and I always talked about it as if it was already successful without us ever defining what it was.
We would talk and talk about The Lettuce Club, I even own the domain… However, the idea never moved on.
I will make it, they may come.
We boiled down the idea to be just a sort of proto-blog that just me and a friend would do. We made several topic ideas and had images for them, as seen below. Ranging from embarrassing stories about ourselves, to random rambling stories.
We would meet up to study for our finals but just devolve into talking about lettuce club and how cool it will be. There was never really an if or when, it was just going to be.
I miss that optimism, the feeling that you’re going to be involved with something that will take off and you’ll get to hangout with your best friends and do what makes you happy. I guess it boils down to what would make me happy. I think a business that I enjoyed doing, and doing so with my closest friends, would be the ideal career for me.
Sadly, it seems that this idea has died and the dream of being able to sit around and talk about the stuff that interests us, and somehow make money from it, is nearing death.
I am not too worried about the dream, it may be close to death, but I am sure it will raise and I will get to do something that I love and make plenty of money. To me it was never about making a ton, to make enough and be able to happily just live life, that’s a dream worth striving for.
I think this was a front image for a section called, "on the topic of my shittyness". It was going to be a group of articles on how shitty I can be, without meaning to be.
